About

Margot Zuckerman is the Deputy Director of Special Projects at the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA), where she leads high-impact initiatives across climate, operations, and capital functions. Her work focuses on scaling renewable energy solutions, developing a heat safety program, and improving organizational leadership across the 7,000-person agency.

Margot is passionate about cross-sector leadership as a means to tackle urgent challenges. Her expertise in climate action is informed by her experience spanning both public and private sectors, including her time as a Tech-to-Market Summer Scholar at the Department of Energy’s ARPA-E. There, she fostered partnerships with investors and philanthropists to accelerate the commercialization of breakthrough climate technologies. She has also worked internationally, serving as an Sales and Marketing MBA Intern at Source.ag, an agtech startup leveraging AI to empower greenhouse farmers.

As an advocate for using "intrapreneurship" to drive sustainability, while working in Ingredients Procurement at Kraft Heinz, she led initiatives to drive the adoption of plant-based products by partnering with innovative ingredient suppliers. She also developed tools to highlight previously unquantified supply chain risks, strengthening business continuity and climate resilience. Margot also supported the leadership team of the Harvard Social Intrapreneurs Initiative during its founding stages.

Margot holds an MBA with Second-Year Honors from Harvard Business School and a BA, magna cum laude, in Environmental Sciences and Economics from Northwestern University. She enjoys hiking, dancing ballet, and spending time with her partner and dog.
